葱油饼

我朋友常常吃葱油饼。他说他最喜欢葱油饼。我喜欢中国菜，可是我不吃葱油饼了。在ANIMECENTRAL我朋友要给我他的自制葱油饼。

Out of all the Chinese food I've learned about recently, this is the one I'm most excited to try.  My friend Charles is always raving about it, he'd eat it every day if he could.  When I go visit him at Anime Central in a month it will definitely be on the list of things I try, along with whatever authentic Chinese restaurants he knows of in Chicago!

I actually asked a friend what we should do in Shanghai

我和我的朋友小果在人民广场(people's square)。 我们先坐公共汽车到外滩（the bund), 然后打出租汽车到东方明珠电视塔 （oriental pearl)。然后我们打车到豫园吃晚饭 (yuyuan garden)， 然后我们坐公共汽车到复兴公园合喝酒(fuxing park)，最后走回家。明天早上我们到复兴公园合打麻将。

I mostly used locations we talked about in class for inspiration on where to go, although my friend did say it would be fun to go to Fuxing Park in the morning and play Mahjong with the old people, so I had to include it.  I really don't think I could handle a trap to Shanghai by myself without a local or at least someone who has spent a lot of time there to guide me, because I have enough trouble in cities like Chicago.

I think Chinese language and poetry is awesome because of gimmicks like that.  It reminds me of English poems that are a giant palindrome or something similarly silly.  This poem also works as some intense Tone training, because no matter how many times I try to read it with the pinyin I get tonguetied pretty quickly and lose it.
